To create this collection, I photographed eight individuals in their dorms at SAIC and four-to-five objects they felt represented themselves or were important to them. through this method, I created portraits of individuals without showing the individual and forcing the viewer to learn who each subject is through their chosen objects and the space they created in a two-week span.
this work is the predecessor to my final collection (above) In this poster-sized collage is where I first experimented with removing the subject of the photo and filling the space left behind.
this Diptych was developed from sheet film shot from a pinhole camera.  Learning photography in a new medium gave me a better understanding of planning your photographs, instead of taking as many as you could due to the time-intensive nature of shooting Film
The two cyanotypes above are a spliced single image representative of the prompt of "Sameness". I captured sameness in a snapshot of the way free time was spent by my roommates during the ECPSI program. This exercise contributed to the thought processes behind my final collection.
